Even if you're not journeying to New Orleans for the annual Tales of the Cocktail Conference, you can still enjoy a great New Orleans classic cocktail. Monday, July 6th at 6pm Annie's Cafe & Bar is putting on a send-off party for all the bartenders, mixologists and cocktail enthusiasts headed to the Big Easy. Enjoy a classic Sazerac or an Absinthe Frappe. Make sure to stick around for the Grand Finale of the Ramos Gin Fizz shaken by a "platoon" of Austin's Top Bartenders. Food, Inc. will debut in Austin on June 26 at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz and Regal Arbor Cinema at Great Hills Documentary filmmaker Robert Kenner uses reports by Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser and The Omnivore's Dilemma author Michael Pollan as a springboard for exploring where the food we purchase at the grocery store really comes from, and what it means for the health of future generations. As David Edelstein of New York magazine says, “See it. Bring your kids if you have them. Bring someone else’s if you don’t.”
