Edible Communities show airs on Heritage Radio Network |
Heritage Radio Network is is a cutting edge internet-based radio station designed to protect and advance our country’s rich cultural roots in the form of interviews, reflections, musings and ramblings from America’s leading farmers, food mavericks, filmmakers, artists and tastemakers. The live radio shows are archived into audio bits and pieces and are searchable by keywords or phrases and archived on heritageradionetwork.com.
Edible Communities is hosting a weekly 1-hr show on the network that airs on Mondays at 5 pm EST. Edible Austin publisher Marla Camp will host the show on a rotating basis with fellow Edible publishers Kate Manchester ( Edible Santa Fe) and Deborah Schapiro ( Edible Green Mountains). Marla’s debut show is Monday, June 8 (4 pm CST). She'll be talking with Judith McGeary, executive director of Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance about the USDA Listening Sessions being held around the country to get public input on NAIS (National Animal Identification System) legislation. Additional guests will be Emily Olson, co-founder of Foodzie.com, an online marketplace where you can discover and buy food directly from small artisan food producers and growers. along with LA-based Foodzie artisan star Nina Wanat ( BonBonBars) and new Foodzie.com member, Austin's own Jeffrey Lorien ( Zhi Tea). Marla’s show will also feature an interview with Eugenia Bone, author of Well-Preserved: Recipes and Techniques for Putting Up Small Batches of Seasonal Foods, about her book and her passion for preserving fresh foods.  And special guest Carol Ann Sayle ( Boggy Creek Farm) will debut a regular segment on the show (Downtown on the Farm with Carol Ann) and will tell us what's on her mind.
