When San Francisco-based photographer Christine Alicino got the assignment to shoot M.F.K. Fisher for Heidi Yorkshire’s profile, she was just starting her career. For the portrait, Alicino used a 4x5 camera. She exposed the border of grapes on black velvet in advance, then used the same film for Fisher’s image. A writer and self-confessed foodie, Marilyn McCray has cooked at a dude ranch and served on the Restaurant Committee of the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta. Her love of food has taken her to Boggy Creek Farm in East Austin where she assists with the Saturday farm stand, selling organic vegetables and visiting with the locals and chefs who frequent the farm. Since 2006, she has been on the leadership team of Slow Food Austin, a local convivium of Slow Food International promoting the benefits of the slow life.

While a longtime resident abroad, Ida received her formal culinary education at Le Cordon Bleu and worked as a cook in some of France's top restaurants. Along with her work at SFC, Ms. Santos runs a small family farm in Kyle, Texas, where she raises two sons, peaches, chickens, and a goose.
