Zhi Tea is ecstatic to announce the culmination of our amazing third year of business and is inviting you to celebrate with us! Join us at our Tea Gallery space and on our lawn under the majestic pecan trees for local artisan food bites, local beer, two open bars (!) featuring Tipsy Texans doing crazy tea-infused cocktails, Treaty Oak Rum hosting a bar, live music (featuring Dr. Oolong himself), and of course lots and lots of our cool teas on ice to beat the heat.

This is going to be a fun event. Kids are welcome, of course.

Oh, and we are doing a sale of the day - A free tin of our new "Longhorn Limited" blend for every $25 purchase. I couldn't resist.

Anyway, we are grateful to have made it this far and we want to party!

Drop by Redbud Café , on the square in Blanco and ASK FOR CASK! The brewing team from Blanco’s own Real Ale Brewing Company will tap their cask conditioned Lost Gold IPA for Redbud Café's Cask Party.

By definition, real ale is any ale served without extraneous CO2 and naturally carbonated within the serving vessel – in this case, the cask. Because of this, cask conditioned beers demand that the cask be emptied once it has been tapped, in order to maintain the natural carbonation of the brew.

Friday’s Special Cask brew, Lost Gold IPA: $4.50/pint

In addition to the cask on Friday night, Redbud Cafe proudly serves 8 Real Ale beers on tap.

Seasonals currently on tap at Redbud Cafe :

Oyster Club 2010 Season Kick-off Event (4:00 PM)
Oyster Club 2010 Season
Kick-off event September 19

Meeting once in every month whose name contains an "r" (September-April), the Oyster Club is a new way to find pearls of art, architecture, music, film, food, and performance in the oceans of culture in Austin and Central Texas.

The Oyster Club's kick-off event (nine events in 2010 season) is September 19. This is the third year for Edible Austin to sponsor the Rude Mechanicals Theater Company’s Oyster Club (a members-only group of cultural arts supporters who explore the cross-pollination of art, architecture, music, film, food and performance in a series of nine events throughout the year.)

In addition to organizing the kick-off Oyster Feast event at the Plant at Kyle (celebrating fresh seafood from the Gulf), Edible Austin showcases local food and beverage artisans at each of the events (themed appropriately) throughout the season, which not only exposes many local food and drink makers to
an adventurous audience but also elevates local food to an art form!

The 2009 Season Oyster Club raised approximately $20,000 for the theater group. Events vary in size from 50 people to 150 people.
