Edible Austin's Eat Local Week
Thursday, December 9:
Fine Art and Food Night presented by Les Dames d'Escoffier Take a progressive tour of local food and art, beginning at Wally Workman Gallery (on W. 6th Street), with a curated show featuring well-known Texas artists offering works of art and a new show by Will Klemm, while enjoying chef-prepared appetizers and cocktails by Paula's Texas Spirits. A portion of all art sales will benefit Urban Roots. 6–8 pm. Proceed to Austin Museum of Art downtown for a dessert and wine reception, featuring Perissos Winery and East End Wines, in their community room and an open house in their exhibition spaces. 7–9 pm. Then walk two blocks to Arthouse, and view their exhibition featuring Jason Middlebrook’s new works and enjoy popcorn by Reel Popcorn, snacks and Saint Arnold beer and Mexican hot chocolate courtesy of The Steeping Room, while viewing Grown in Detroit, an award-winning documentary food-inspired film at 9:30 pm on their new rooftop space (or in their community room, depending on the weather!).
