Nuoc Cham (Fish-Sauce Dressing)

This traditional and basic dressing and dip accompanies many Vietnamese dishes and saladsincluding many of our featured recipes.

Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups.

Nuoc Cham (Fish-Sauce Dressing)


For 4 Person(s)


  • 1 cups hot water
  • 1 tablespoons minced sambal oelek (we suggest the Huy Fong Foods brand)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoons minced garlic

Nuoc Cham (Fish-Sauce Dressing) Directions

  1. Combine the water and sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add all of the other ingredients and stir well. Set aside.
